“St. Joe’s has helped me through the most pivotal points in my life,” says Inez Kim. “My children were born here, I was saved here, and so were my daughters.”
Her oldest daughter Lauren’s life was saved after a severe nut allergy when she was one. When her youngest daughter Sofia was born, Dr. Eddy Lau discovered that she had a heart defect. Then Inez was diagnosed with breast cancer. “St. Joe’s pulled me through,” says Inez. “Sofia got the care she needed and I had my surgery, chemotherapy and follow-up care all here at St. Joe’s.”
Today, the girls are healthy and happy, and Inez is cancer-free. “St. Joe’s takes care of my family. That’s why it’s my community Health Centre.”
