Kyle’s Promise to Help People With Cancer

As a firefighter, Kyle runs in full protective gear all the time. But on April 3rd, he didn’t put on his heavy uniform to run into a burning building. He dressed in full gear to run five kilometres in 38 minutes to help raise more than $2,000 to help patients at St. Joe’s fighting cancer.

“My grandfather was a firefighter for 32 years with the City of York. He was my hero and why I decided to become a firefighter,” he says. “When he died in November from cancer, I wanted to give back by raising funds in his honour. It’s my way of thanking the Oncology Clinic for caring for him throughout his cancer treatment.”
