St. Joseph’s Health Centre has one of the busiest fracture clinic in all of Ontario. Our orthopaedic surgeons and physicians are among the best; that’s why they’re in such high demand. They receive more than 20,000 visits every year.
Young and old alike need access to mobility care, whether for a fractured wrist from playing sports to more significant injuries resulting from a serious auto collision, industrial accident or fall. Some of our patients need knee or hip replacements and some have complex fractures and need treatment to help them regain their ability to enjoy life.
Our team of medical professionals need the best equipment to provide the best possible care. Equipment isn’t always paid for by government funding – that’s why we need your help.
Ortho Riders Cycle for Equipment
The Ortho Riders are a top fundraising team that come out every year to ride in Cycle 4 St. Joe’s. Most of the team are from the Fracture Clinic and as a St. Joe’s staff team, they can direct the funds they raise towards needs in their own department. In 2018, the Ortho Riders used the $22,500 they raised to buy new orthopaedic surgical equipment, including advanced technology for minimally invasive procedures
