Dr. Eddy Lau appointed Chief Medical Officer (interim) at St. Joseph’s Health Centre

Dr. Eddy Lau joined St. Joseph’s Health Centre in 2000 and has since played a key role in the vision and design of its pediatric programs, most recently through his role as chief of Pediatrics. He was instrumental in the opening of the Pediatric School Outreach Clinic in partnership with the Toronto District School Board. The clinic operates in Parkdale Public School providing support to families by identifying and addressing health challenges impacting their children’s academic performance through improved access to community, social support and health services.

Dr. Lau is involved in leadership roles on the Canadian Paediatric Society and the Pediatric Section of the Ontario Medical Association. He is a member of the TARGet Kids Research Group Advisory Committee at the Hospital for Sick Children and is an assistant professor of Pedatrics at the University of Toronto.  He also continues to run a practice in Toronto’s west end community providing primary and consultative care.

Dr. Lau holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Toronto, a Doctor of Medicine from Queen’s University and completed his residency training in Pediatrics at the Hospital for Sick Children.
