Peter Barnicke is in our thoughts
Peter Barnicke

Our wonderful and longest-serving Foundation Board member, Peter Barnicke passed away unexpectedly on November 22, 2018.  Peter was a kind, lively and engaged member of the Board, serving on our major gifts committee, Campaign Cabinet and golf committee.

He loved St. Joseph’s and was proud to continue the Barnicke tradition of supporting St. Joe’s begun by his father JJ.  His son Michael carries on the tradition of support by serving on our golf committee. Two of Peter’s five grandchildren were born here.

Peter was an extraordinary human being whose qualities of kindness and generosity uplifted and inspired all who knew him. Peter was devoted to his community and we are so grateful that he chose St. Joseph’s Health Centre Foundation as one of the many boards he served on.

“I had the pleasure to work alongside Peter as a fellow board member for many years, “says Roman Dubczak, Chair of the Board, St. Joseph’s Health Centre Foundation. “Peter strongly believed in giving back to his community. Even though he had a demanding business life, he always made St. Joe’s a priority and we benefitted immensely from his dedication. All of us will miss Peter’s kindness but take with us his example of generosity.”

The  Barnicke family requested that donations be made to St. Joseph’s Health Centre Foundation in lieu of flowers. Donations in Peter’s memory can be made here.
