MRI Technology will have an Immediate Impact
Thanks to the Garron family, St. Joseph’s will purchase new MRI technology with that will improve resolution and scanning times. For patients, this means having access to technology that can more accurately detect early strokes, tumours, muscle, tendon and ligament problems, and many other diagnoses, in shorter scan times.
“This donation will have an immediate impact on patients who need an MRI. We will be able to upgrade the machine we have and purchase an additional machine that has shorter scan times,” says Dr. Tara Williams, Chief of Diagnostic Imaging. “Many patients who need MRI tests are in pain and cannot lie still for long periods, or suffer from claustrophobia. The faster we perform the test to get the results they need, the better for patients.”
