You keep patients safe during recovery

This year, donor support helped meet St. Joe’s greatest equipment needs, enabling our teams to deliver the highest standard of care for our patients. From advanced technology that improves accuracy during surgery to upgrading essential equipment that patients rely on during recovery, every dollar means better outcomes and patient experiences. Here are two examples of equipment that donors supported this year:

• Thanks to donors, St. Joe’s purchased a new FLUENT Fluid Management System, a highly advanced system used during hysterectomy procedures. During these procedures, surgeons use fluids to expand the surgical area for improved visibility. The FLUENT system carefully controls these fluids, allowing surgeons to perform this procedure with greater accuracy, lowering the risk of complications, and making recovery faster and more comfortable.
• Upgraded patient beds are an example of how your support is providing safer, more comfortable care for patients. In our Medical Surgical Unit, new beds improve circulation, keep patients safe and comfortable during treatment and recovery, and reduce the risk of pressure injuries (also known as bedsores).

I give to St. Joe’s because of their pursuit of excellence and their reputation as teaching leaders and innovators. They’ve provided hope and health to our community for over 100 years. That is inspiring and truly a feat to be appreciated and celebrated, and I’m proud to support them with new equipment. -Odette Family
