Cycle 4 St. Joe’s

About the Ride

Cycle 4 St. Joe’s is more than a ride—it’s a powerful community tradition that brings neighbours, friends, colleagues, and care teams together in support of the hospital at the heart of Toronto’s west end. Riders of all levels come together each year with one shared goal: to strengthen care close to home.

What began in 2011 as a single ride by two local teens to Niagara and back has grown into one of St. Joe’s most impactful fundraising events. Today, Cycle 4 St. Joe’s brings together hundreds of riders and has raised more than $4.5 million in support of patient care.

Impact

Every dollar raised helps build extraordinary care at St. Joe’s—funding compassionate spaces, advanced technology, and the future of care for our community. As a community hospital delivering most of the acute care in the west end, St. Joe’s relies on events like Cycle 4 ST. Joe’s to continue meeting the needs of patients and families, today and for generations to come.

Can my children participate?

Are your children eager to join the fun? Absolutely! We welcome participants ages 8 and above to embark on the 10K route. We trust parents’ judgment when it comes to their child’s readiness, with a gentle reminder that this route takes to the road. Safety and comfort are our top priorities, ensuring an enjoyable experience for all.

Is there a virtual option?

We are excited to be able to ride as a community and will not have the virtual option available. Should you wish to make a donation to the event, feel free to do so HERE.

What should I do to prepare?

You should get both yourself and your bike ready for the ride. The ride is a challenge so we suggest you train for the ride by joining our Strava Club for suggested training routes. You want to work yourself up to being able to log those kilometres so you are not feeling overwhelmed on the day of the ride. We also encourage you to get your bike checked before the ride and to make sure you have the right gear—bike shorts, a helmet, and an emergency kit are great items to have with you.

Is the minimum fundraising mandatory?

Cycle 4 St. Joe’s is the health care centre’s largest annual peer to peer fundraising event, and we have an ambitious goal of raising more than we ever have! With that, we encourage our participants to raise the suggested minimum of $250 to enable our doctors, nurses and healthcare staff deliver the best care possible to our west-end community.

What is the last day to register and to receive donations?

Participants can register up to the day of the event. This said we continue to accept and collect all donations after the event takes place as well. Please check out our fundraising tips for best practices.

Remember, just like your cycle training, fundraising is successful when you start early and follow up.

How do I personalize my Cycle 4 St. Joe’s fundraising page?

When you register to Cycle 4 St. Joe’s, you automatically are given a personal fundraising page in the participant centre. You can customize your fundraising page with your personal message and photo by following some easy instructions which will be found in our Social Media Toolkit.
