Each month, we celebrate a West-Ender of the Month — someone who supports St. Joe’s and gives back to our west-end community in meaningful ways. These are neighbours who step forward, lend their talents, and help build extraordinary health care, close to home.
This March 2026, we’re proud to recognize the Carnevale Family.
For the Carnevale family, the west end is more than where they work — it’s where their life story has unfolded. As owners of Thorncrest Foodland, they’ve built their business and raised their families in the same community that has supported them for generations.
St. Joseph’s Health Centre has cared for their family through life’s most meaningful moments. They were born here. Their children were born here. And when their mother faced lung cancer, the oncology team cared for her and their entire family with compassion and dignity.
Inspired by her gratitude and generosity, the family began the Grinch Tree fundraiser in her honour, a tradition that now brings the community together each year to support oncology care close to home.
Supporting the hospital is our way of saying thank you — and ensuring that same care will be there for the next family.
