We are proud to name our new Dialysis Centre after Salah Bachir and Jacob Yerex. Salah and Jacob are leaders in every way. They are generous donors and enthusiastic champions.
Philanthropist Salah Bachir is a dialysis patient at St. Joseph’s Health Centre, which he calls his “second home” given how often he visits for treatment. His frequent treatments inspired him to donate himself and raise $2 million to support better dialysis care at St. Joseph’s, including the launch of the Bachir Yerex Family Dialysis Centre, which is named after him and his husband Jacob Yerex.
“There is so much need in our communities and it gives me great pleasure to help,” said Bachir. “St. Joe’s is a particular passion of mine because as a member of the west-end community and a patient, I want to help my neighbours get the best health care possible.”
